An NBA parlay combines two or more basketball selections, called legs, into one bet.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| PH22 Odds Meaning Explained | Odds state the price of an outcome: how much you collect per peso staked if it wins. |
| PH22 Over Under Meaning Explained | Over under means a bet on whether the combined score of both sides finishes above or below a line the book sets. |
| PH22 Vig Meaning Explained | Vig, also called juice, is the margin a book builds into its prices. |
An NBA parlay is a single bet built from two or more basketball selections, called legs, where every leg must win and the price is the legs’ decimal odds multiplied together. The multiplication is why it pays more than the legs would alone, and the same multiplication is why it loses more often. For the slip itself, read the plain-language sports betting terms first. Every price and team label on this page is invented.
NBA parlay in one table
A parlay changes three things compared with a single bet.
| Feature | Single bet | Parlay |
|---|---|---|
| Selections | One | Two or more |
| Price | The odds | Odds multiplied |
| Pays when | The selection wins | Every leg wins |
The structure of an NBA parlay
Each leg is a market you already know: a winner (moneyline), a spread (handicap) or a total. The structure never changes, only the legs do.
- Leg 1: Team A to win at 1.60.
- Leg 2: Team C -5.5 spread at 1.90.
- Leg 3: Over 224.5 total points in Team E vs Team F at 1.90.
- Price: 1.60 × 1.90 × 1.90 = 5.776, so a ₱100 stake returns ₱577.60.
Books normally take legs from separate games and often refuse legs from the same game that depend on each other. The over under meaning examples show how a total leg settles.
How the parlay price multiplies
Convert every leg to decimal first, using the odds meaning conversion table if a leg is in American form. Then multiply.
Take three other invented legs at 1.80, 2.00 and 1.50 with a ₱100 stake.
- 1.80 × 2.00 = 3.60.
- 3.60 × 1.50 = 5.40.
- Return: ₱100 × 5.40 = ₱540, a profit of ₱440.
As ₱100 singles the same legs would return ₱180, ₱200 and ₱150. The parlay turns one ₱100 stake into ₱540, but only if all three land.
What a void leg does to an NBA parlay
A void leg is a selection the market rules cancel, for example a game that is postponed. The book removes that leg and settles the rest, which is the same as pricing it at 1.00.
| Leg | Decimal odds | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Leg 1 | 1.80 | Wins |
| Leg 2 | 2.00 | Void |
| Leg 3 | 1.50 | Wins |
The price becomes 1.80 × 1.00 × 1.50 = 2.70, so ₱100 returns ₱270. A push on a whole-number spread or total is handled the same way on most slips, but the market rules on screen are the final word.
Why parlay risk compounds
Every added leg multiplies the payout and shrinks the chance of winning. The chance of all legs landing is each leg’s probability multiplied together.
| Legs | Each leg | Price | All win |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2.00 | 2.00 | 50.00% |
| 2 | 2.00 | 4.00 | 25.00% |
| 3 | 2.00 | 8.00 | 12.50% |
| 4 | 2.00 | 16.00 | 6.25% |
The 5.40 parlay above shows the same link: 1 ÷ 5.40 is 18.52%, and 55.56% × 50.00% × 66.67% gives the same figure. A five-leg parlay of 66.67% legs lands only 13.17% of the time. Each leg also carries a margin, which the vig meaning page works out, and the margin multiplies along with the price.
Parlay rules to read on the slip
Each book writes its own parlay rules, and the rules decide your settlement. Read these five points on the slip and the market rules screen before you confirm.
- How many legs the slip allows.
- Whether legs from the same game can be combined.
- How a void or push leg is priced, usually as 1.00.
- Whether a postponed game voids its leg.
- Whether a lost leg ends the bet at once or the book waits for the other results.
Your parlay returned less than the slip showed.
Check for a void or push leg. A removed leg is priced at 1.00, so ₱540 on a 5.40 parlay becomes ₱270 at 2.70 when the 2.00 leg is void.
FAQ
What is an NBA parlay?
An NBA parlay is one bet made of two or more basketball selections, called legs. Each leg is a winner, a spread or a total, and every leg has to win for the bet to pay.
How is an NBA parlay price worked out?
Multiply the decimal odds of every leg. Legs at 1.60, 1.90 and 1.90 give 5.776, so a ₱100 stake returns ₱577.60.
What happens if one leg of a parlay is void?
The void leg is removed and the rest of the bet stands, usually priced as if the void leg were 1.00. The market rules on your slip confirm how that book handles it.
