PH22 Slot Reels: How Grids Decide What Lands and Pays
Slot reels are the columns of symbols that stop on each spin.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| PH22 Max Win in the Philippines | A max win is the largest payout a slot allows on one round, written as a multiple of your stake. |
| PH22 Progressive Jackpot Explained | A progressive jackpot is a prize pool that grows from a small share of every qualifying stake until one player wins it, then resets. |
| PH22 Slot Variance Explained | Slot variance, which studios label volatility, is how a slot spreads its returns. |
Slot reels are the columns of symbols that stop on every spin, and their count and height form the grid you play on. The grid decides how many positions can hold a winning symbol, and the pay model decides which ones count. The scatter slot basics cover the count-based symbol, and this page covers the layout around it.
Slot reels and grids in the slots covered here
A grid is written as reels by rows, so 5x4 means five reels and four rows. Different titles use very different layouts, and that changes what a win needs.
| Title | Grid | Pay model |
|---|---|---|
| Wolf Gold | 5x3 | 25 paylines |
| Super Ace | 5x4 | 1024 ways |
| Gates of Olympus | 6x5 | Scatter pays |
| Mega Ace | 6x6 | 46656 ways |
| Fortune Ox | 3-4-3 | 10 lines |
| Wild Bounty Showdown | 3-4-5-5-4-3 | 3,000 ways |
The Mega Ace count is 6 to the power of 6, fixed rather than variable. Fortune Ox and Wild Bounty Showdown are irregular, because the reels do not all share one height.
How symbols land on slot reels
Once the reels stop, the game reads the grid under one of three models:
- Paylines: matching symbols must sit on a fixed path. Wolf Gold runs 25 of them.
- Ways: matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left pay wherever they land. The ways to win meaning page shows the arithmetic, such as 4 rows on 5 reels giving 1024.
- Scatter pays: symbols pay by count anywhere. Gates of Olympus pays on 8 or more, with no fixed lines.
Reel height matters most for ways games. Wild Bounty Showdown’s 3-4-5-5-4-3 layout multiplies out to 3,000 ways, so adding a row to one reel raises the total.
Symbol types on the reels
Five jobs cover almost every symbol that lands. The paytable assigns each one, and a single title can use several at once.
| Symbol type | Job | Example title |
|---|---|---|
| Regular | Pays on a line or way | Any title |
| Wild | Stands in for regular symbols | Super Ace |
| Scatter | Triggers by count | Gates of Olympus |
| Multiplier | Scales a win | Fruit Party |
| Money or jackpot | Collects fixed prizes | Wolf Gold |
Super Ace lists golden card wilds, Gates of Olympus lists free spins on 4+ scatters, Fruit Party lists random multipliers, and Wolf Gold lists a money respin with mini, major and mega prizes. The wild symbol meaning page explains how wild behaviour varies from game to game.
Slot multiplier values by title
A slot multiplier scales a win by a stated factor, so a 10x multiplier turns a ₱30 win into ₱300. What it scales differs by title: one win, a cascade or a round. The table lists only what each title’s page states.
| Title | Multiplier listed | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Gates of Olympus | Random, up to 500x | Random |
| Fruit Party | Random, 2x to 256x | Random |
| Super Ace Deluxe | Elimination multiplier, stops at 20x | Cumulative |
| Wild Bounty Showdown | Free spins open at 8x | Round |
| Treasures of Aztec | +1 per cascade, +2 in free spins | Cumulative |
| Mahjong Ways 2 | Free spins multiplier up to 10x | Cumulative |
| Fortune Ox | 10x on a full-reel win | Full-reel |
| Fortune Gems | Multiplier, no figure listed | Not published |
Illustrative arithmetic: a cascade of three wins worth ₱10, ₱20 and ₱30 pays ₱60, and a 4x multiplier applied to the whole sequence makes it ₱240. The Gates of Olympus page says the orbs on screen are summed before the total is applied to the whole tumble sequence, and the Super Ace Deluxe page says its multiplier never resets. See the Gates of Olympus page and the Super Ace Deluxe page.
A multiplier showed on screen but your win did not grow as expected.
Check what the multiplier applies to. If it targets one win or a later stage of the round, earlier wins stay at face value. Read the paytable line for it before you plan around it.
Read a paytable before you stake
Every layout and symbol rule lives on the info screen, and one pass takes about a minute. Follow this order:
- Read the grid size and whether the game pays by lines, ways or count.
- Find the regular symbols and their pay values at your stake.
- Find the wild and read whether it carries a multiplier or stays in place.
- Find the scatter and note how many trigger the feature, as Super Ace Deluxe needs three.
- Compare the title’s top figure on the published max win caps page with its label on the slot variance labels page.
Set your budget first and keep to it. PH22 is for players aged 21 and over.
FAQ
What are slot reels?
Slot reels are the vertical columns of symbols that spin and stop. Together with the rows they form the grid, and the game's pay model decides which stopped positions pay.
What does 5x4 mean on a slot?
It means five reels with four rows, so twenty positions on screen. Super Ace uses that layout with 1024 ways, which is 4 to the power of 5.
Do all slot reels have the same number of rows?
No. Wild Bounty Showdown lays its six reels out as 3-4-5-5-4-3, and Fortune Ox uses 3-4-3, so the reels differ in height.
What does a multiplier symbol do?
It scales a win by a stated factor. A 5x multiplier on a ₱20 win pays ₱100, and the paytable says whether it applies to one win, a cascade or a round.
